Amanda Chruchill

Amanda Churchill is a writer living in Texas. Her work has been featured in Hobart Pulp, Witness, River Styx, and other outlets. She was a Writer’s League of Texas 2021 Fellow and holds a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of North Texas. The Turtle House is her first novel.

 Scott Von Doviak

Scott Von Doviak spent two decades as a pop culture writer, including stints as a film critic for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and a TV reviewer for the Onion’s AV Club, authoring three nonfiction books along the way. His short stories have appeared in ToughRock and a Hard Place, and the Saturday Evening Post, among others. His debut novel Charlesgate Confidential was named one of the top 10 crime novels of 2018 by the Wall Street Journal. His second novel, the Edgar Award-nominated Lowdown Road, is now available from Hard Case Crime. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Robin.

Andrew Porter is the author of four books, including the short story collection The Theory of Light and Matter (Vintage/Penguin Random House), which won the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction, the novel In Between Days (Knopf), which was a Barnes & Noble “Discover Great New Writers” selection, an IndieBound “Indie Next” selection, and the San Antonio Express News’s “Fictional Work of the Year,” the short story collection The Disappeared (Knopf), which was published in April 2023 and longlisted for The Story Prize, and the novel The Imagined Life, which is forthcoming from Knopf in 2025. Porter’s books have been published in foreign editions in the UK and Australia and translated into numerous languages, including French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Bulgarian, and Korean.
