About Richard Z. Santos
Richard Z. Santos is the author of the novel Trust Me, finalist for The Writers League of Texas fiction prize and named one of the ten best debuts of 2020 by Crime Reads. He is the editor of a forthcoming anthology of Latinx horror stories. He is currently Executive Director of Austin Bat Cave, a literary nonprofit in Austin. His fiction, essays and reviews have appeared in multiple publications, including Pank, Texas Monthly, Salt Hill, Kirkus Reviews, The Rumpus, The Morning News, Cosmonauts Avenue, and many more. He has been a judge or reader for multiple prizes including: The National Book Critics Circle, the Kirkus Nonfiction Prize, the Acacia Prize, and The National Endowment of the Arts fellowships. Previously, he worked for labor unions, political campaigns, and consulting firms in Washington DC and was a high-school English and Social Studies teacher.
